Instructions:
Tell each team/players to take a piece of paper and hold it in front of them. And tell them”For the next minute, follow my instructions, do not talk or ask questions.”
Give the team/players the following instructions after they close their eyes:
- Take the piece of paper and fold it in half, tear off the upper right corner
- Next, fold the piece of paper in half, tear off the lower right corner
- Next, again fold the piece of paper in half, tear off the upper left corner
- (optional) Again fold the piece of paper in half, tear off the lower left corner
Now tell the team/players to open their eyes
Ask the team/players “Did we get the same result”
Debrief
Discuss with the team: Why didn’t we get the same result? Answer: no shared context... Everyone was running from their own point of view and without feedback to create a shared context and understanding, we all got different results even if some were similar.
